What to buy a new baby: inspired by the Baby Show

Ahhh babies. Shopping for new babies is one of life’s guilty pleasures. They are so cute who can resist! As parents we thought we’d seen everything there was to see but unbelievably there are even more genius baby products on the market that we wish someone had told us about.

We spent last weekend at the Baby Show, Excel London checking out the huge range of products designed to make life easier for new parents and meet up with their wonderful creators. We wanted to share our top 3 finds for all you new mums and dads out there:

Baby weaning: The Fill n Squeeze starter pack – this took me back to the days of creating delicious medleys of sieved peas, blueberries or squash, spoon wrestling baby antics and wall wiping later! There’s something about a squeezy pouch that babies absolutely love and for our little ones it was a guaranteed way to get veggies and fruit down them on the go. This is a genius creation – a pouch filler jug, a plunger/masher and squeezy re-usable pouches – so you still get your home cooking in but can control the messy aftermath.

Baby changing:  Melobaby All-in-One Nappy Wallet and Change Mat – practical and gorgeous we were really impressed by the size of this wallet. It fits nappies, wipes, creams, and even has a removable fleece changing mat. The best thing about it as it fits into pretty much any bag so there’s hope for still keeping that pre-baby handbag or man bag!

You/Baby sleeping:  The NSA BabyBay Cot – this is a safe and lovely way to sleep alongside your new baby. It attaches to any height or style of bed and means you don’t have to get out of bed for those night time feeds and can minimise that sleep deprivation. Even cooler it converts into a bench seat, playpen, a highchair or playpen so once they reach 9 months no need to add it to the pile in the attic. Already proven to be a hot find by our mums and dads on Cahootsy.
